Beating competition using efficient business or supply chain management?
07 Dec 2022How do you respond successfully to the current demand from the market? By bundling individual knowledge within the chain, shared goals are achieved more quickly.
How do you successfully meet current (and rapidly changing) market demands? By no longer competing on a business management level but through mobilising your entire supply chain instead to reach a common goal. If every chain partner efficiently uses its knowledge and experience, this goal can be reached sooner than you think. Curious to know how? Read more in our latest blog!
Working together successfully, towards a common goal
Do you operate on a micro or macro level? In other words, do you aim to beat competition on your own, or do you collaborate with your chain partners? Mobilising your entire supply chain has many benefits:
1. Every chain partner provides individual knowledge and expertise. Through using this knowledge at the right time, all chain partners could benefit. Because why would you reinvent the wheel, when it already exists? Sector-specific knowledge and expertise are extremely valuable and by sharing this knowledge, you reinforce your entire supply chain.
2. Clever collaboration allows you to rapidly respond to (external) changes. This specifically counts for the fruit and vegetable sector. From the production process to packaging and sales, each step should seamlessly fit the next, to ensure speedy delivery. When every partner is aware of its individual role within the supply chain, an efficient process can be created; from a small seed to fresh produce for the consumer.
3. Do you aim for control or for direction? When one of the chain partners controls the rest, it could have a negative impact the entire supply chain. As this does not involve a shared vision, but only focuses on an individual goal. Giving each chain partner a voice and working together towards a common goal stimulates innovation. Not only will this increase the chance of current success but also of future growth.
Creating customer value through delivering high-quality products
Why are companies such as ASML, bol.com or Tony’s Chocolonely so successful at what they do? They know exactly what is happening in their supply chain, closely collaborate with their chain partners and rapidly respond to changing market demands. Through combining their individual insights and expertise, they stimulate innovation and create space for sustainable initiatives. This allows them to secure a leading position in their field and create value for their customers. Because customers should be your main focus, when producing and delivering high-quality products to meet the current market’s demands.
